Happy Holidays in Pictures!

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

Playing Catch Up

The past two months have been a whirlwind. So here's an update of life at the Lee house!
  • In November, Allyson, Jennifer and I hosted a baby shower for one of my oldest friends, Jessica, at her sister, Bridgette's house. We had a great time and Olivia got lots of gifts! Since then, sweet Olivia has arrived!!
  • Austin, Brittany, Robert and I went to the Saints vs. Bucs game in New Orleans. We had a great time and the Saints brought home a win!
  • Brittany, Chrissy and I went to Atlanta for a weekend in November. Our friend Jessica flew in from Miami and we all stayed at our friend's Taylor's apartment. We went to some fabulous restaurants that I would highly recommend - Season's 52 and Two Urban Licks. We also watched the Saints beat the Falcons in the Georgia Dome.
  • We enjoyed Thanksgiving in Pascagoula. Robert and I came back to watch the Southern Miss v. Memphis in the rain. True fans we are!
  • Speaking of Southern Miss football, we beat #6 ranked Houston to take home the C-USA championship! We also won the Hawaii Bowl and have a new coach! I will miss watching Larry on the field but wish him the best.
  • In December, we went to an annual Christmas party hosted by our friends Brandi & Marc, Steve and Kellar.
  • Then, we had the annual Laurel Girl's Christmas party at Allyson and Dave's beautiful home.
  • Robert and I hosted a tacky Christmas party at our house this year.
  • We celebrated Christmas with my parents at our house the weekend before Christmas.
  • Robert Lee turned 31 on December 19th! His parents drove up from Pascagoula to surprise him for a nice dinner at our house.
  • We went to Pascagoula for Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we went to church and then had the family over to watch the Southern Miss bowl game. We had a wonderful Christmas celebration at Pam and Scotty's house.

Whew, that was a lot. Maybe that is why I am exhausted. We are staying around town for New Year's Eve and I totally happy about that. Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!

Happy Homecoming

Southern Miss is 6-1 and ranked in the USA Today poll! We had a wonderful Homecoming celebration yesterday. There was lots of yummy food and lots of wonderful friends.

Robert and I always make Mexican Corn Dip for our tailgate. It's is a Game Day must!! Here is the recipe:
Mexican Corn Dip
2 cans of mexicorn
1 bunch green onions (chopped)
1 cup mayo
8 oz sour cream
1/3 cup jalapenos (chopped)
1 block of sharp cheddar (shredded)
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon Accent
Mix well and bake for about 30 minutes. Serve with corn chips. We have started adding a can of rotel with habernos.

3 Years as the Lee's

We celebrated 3 years of marriage last week! The weekend before our anniversary, we went to New Orleans. It was an awesome weekend simply because we had no plans. We stayed at a hotel that we have never stayed before, ate at all new restaurants, rode the streetcar to the Audubon park and walked to the zoo, and found a free blues concert. It was a great weekend!

Happy Happy Anniversary, Robert Lee! You are an amazing husband and I am so thankful for you.

Happy Fall Y'all!

It'a my FAVORITE time of the year. Time for football, beautiful weather, sweet cinnamon pumpkin scent, mums and soups! Aren't all of those things WONDERFUL?!

Last month, we had "Robert's Best Friend's Wedding". John Allen and Robert are cousins, but they are also life long best friends. Katrina and John Allen's wedding weekend was perfect. The rehearsal dinner was yummy, the setting was fabulous and the company was great! The wedding ceremony and reception were beautiful and we all had an amazing time! I love when Robert gets to spend time with so many good friends.

Wedding

Well, it's officially football season and that makes this girl a happy camper! Southern Miss is 5-1. We should have beat Marshall and been 6-0 but I will take our winning record. Now, if the Saints can beat Carolina (I'm currently having an anxiety attack as I type), it will be a great football weekend!

In other EXCITING news, Robert took an NP job and will be starting on October 17! More details to come.

Happy Fall, Y'all!

What I'm Loving This Week

1. Hot Tools Curling Iron. I have only great things to say about this curling iron, and definitely recommend it to all the ladies!
2. My husband is pretty awesome!
3. True Blood. Robert and I have never watched a television series together until now. Although, it's getting a little weird, we are total True Blood followers.

Hope everyone is staying dry during Tropical Storm Lee!

The Baby Turns 2!

Our little 90 lb. puppy celebrated a birthday in July!

Her "puppy pie" birthday cake!

Edible birthday card.

Of course, I couldn't get her to stand still for a birthday girl picture.

Happy Happy Birthday to our sweet girl.

What I'm Loving This Week

  1. American Bulldog Rescue I never knew I had a love for animals until Sugar came along. Now, I have so much compassion for them, especially big dogs. I mean, who else loves so unconditionally. ABR is a non-profit rescue league for bully breeds. Mojo is an ABR that stole my heart. She is in New Orleans at a foster home waiting on adoption. Robert and I are seriously talking about it, but we just don't know if we can handle another 90 lb. inside dog since we travel so much. Everyone check out the ABR website!

This movie is hilarious! Allyson and I went to see it, but I know Robert would have enjoyed it too!
How did I not know about this sooner! This is the perfect item for carb-o-holics, like ME, who are trying to be low carb. Spaghetti squash is a giant squash that you bake or boil to cook. Then, you rake out the "noodles" from the inside and presto! , your squash is now spaghetti noodles! So far, I have made spaghetti (with ground beef, spaghetti sauce and lots of veggies) and chicken spaghetti (with chicken, low fat cream of chicken, and lots of veggies). I wish I would have taken pictures but I will next time. Go try it!

It's Been a While...

Life has been crazy around the Lee house! This weekend will be the 5th weekend in a row that I have spent out of town. I am super excited about staying at home next weekend. Now, let's get everyone updated!

We have attended 2 weddings and an engagement party.

Robert's best friend, John Allen is getting married! Not only is JA his best friend, they are also cousins. We are super excited for John Allen and Katrina!!

Then, I went to Hangout Festival with some friends. The line-up was amazing and we had a blast. Once they figure out the logistics of handling such a large crowd, this festival may be the best around.

Next up, we had Lee Family vacation 2011! We have true vacation - beach, eat, sleep, repeat. It is wonderful!

Sugar stayed with her Nanny and Pop (my parents) while we were in Destin and had a great time. She has gotten so big, but definitely still thinks she is a little baby. I will post some pictures of her soon.

I am heading to Destin again tomorrow for Crystal and Chad's wedding! It should be a fabulous weekend with my Laurel girls. I will give another update soon!

29 & 6.2

I have taken ZERO pictures lately. I have not been a very good blogger lately. AND this may be the first time I have sat down in front of the computer in a month. I'm going to do better in May. Really, I am!

The month of April has been busy and fun! First of all, I celebrated my 29th birthday! It is hard to believe I am in the last year of my 20's. We spent the birthday weekend on the coast. Friday night, we had a tasty birthday dinner at the Lee house complete with a homemade chocolate birthday cake. Saturday, our friends, John Allen and Katrina, had a super nice engagement party brunch. That night, Robert and I went to dinner at Mary Mahoney's. It was my first visit there, and I really enjoyed it. We stayed at the Beau Rivage and capped off the night with friends. It was a great weekend, and I wish I had pictures to show!

Next, I ran the Crescent City Classic. That's right, I made it all 6.2 miles! I didn't get the time I wanted, but that makes me want to do even better next year. The whole route is scenic - it starts at Jackson Square and ends at City Park, and the New Orleans atmosphere cannot be beat! Thanks to my fab friend/co-worker/gym partner, Brittany, for the encouragement!

This weekend we have a super fun wedding in town, and then finally we will have a weekend with NOTHING to do! Yippee!

Stay tuned...

Lately

I have been MIA lately. The Lee's have experienced lots of changes over the last two months.

First, I took a new job. I've done lots of traveling and adjusting since the beginning of February. I'm really happy and things are going well.

Next, Robert passed boards! Thats, right. He is officially Robert Lee, ACNP-BC! Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

The first weekend in March, we got to go to Pascagoula for Mardi Gras for the first time in 3 years. Robert's sister, Lauren, was a maid in the YMBC ball and it was her 25th birthday! We had such a fun weekend.

Sugar Lee is growing and is adjusting to our new schedule. She has been a little pouty about being alone while both of us work days though. Our child is officially spoiled!
Truthfully, Robert and I are still adjusting to having the same schedule too. He has worked night shift for seven years. Having weeknight dinners together is something completely new to us!

We've been doing some work around the house, and I will post pictures soon. AND I'm going to be a better blogger!

What I'm Loving this Week

1) Versus Strength and Conditioning
I get a better workout in 30 minutes here than I did in 2 hours at the YMCA, Wellness Center or Payne Center. Come visit one Saturday and you will be hooked!

2)
My good friend, Chrissy, believes in me more than I believe in myself sometimes. She has been my encouragement through some big changes over the past two weeks.

3)
My amazing parents are so encouraging, caring and dependable. They have always wanted me to have the best in life, and are always ALWAYS there when I need them. I am also super thankful to have amazing in-laws who accept me as their own.

4)
I've always been a Thierry Mugler Angel girl. I can like other smells, but it's hard for me to love anything other than Angel. But this I love...It's yummy!!

5) Cork Wine Bar
This place is close to home and you will always know someone when you walk in the door. I suggest a wine flight and grilled chicken flatbread!
