Robert Lee, MSN, ACNP

A sincere thank you to everyone who has said a prayer for Robert over the last 2.5 years. All of his HARD work paid off and he did it, he is done, he graduated! We are all so proud of him.

Now he just needs one more prayer when boards come around!
In other exciting news, Robert turned the big 3-0 this past weekend! We enjoyed a great weekend full of celebrations!

I'm really looking forward to the Christmas Eve service at church. Christmas songs give me goosebumps, so I usually have chills the entire hour long candlelight service. It's truly touching. I really hope everyone takes the time to read the real Christmas story over the holidays. From the Lee family to yours, hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Robert had to work the night before and after Thanksgiving so we decided to cook at our house this year! We invited my parents and grandmother and had a great time. Here is Robert's first attempt at baking a turkey.

I was so hungry by the time it was done that I forgot to take a picture of the finished product! Let me tell you though, it was divine! He did great!!
It seems that the Christmas season came so fast this year! We usually trim the tree together, but this year I decorated while Robert did homework. Story of my life recently, right?!

Our Southern Miss/Saints Tree

Lee Christmas Tree 2010 (complete with our sideways star)

New ornament - I'm nice and Robert is naughty! Remember that Santa!

I love the lion - he is Sir Fidel, Sigma and Leo all in one!

Our annual Laurel Girls Christmas party was last weekend. We had a fabulous time as always! I hate I didn't get a better picture.

Some exciting things are happening soon!
  • Robert and I are doing the Advent reading/candle lighting at church tomorrow. Cross your fingers we don't catch something on fire!
  • Robert heads to Mobile on Sunday for his last week of schoolwork ever!
  • Next week is the last week of my 8 week bootcamp at Versus! I'm obsessed and will definitely be doing another.
  • Robert GRADUATES next Friday!
  • Robert turns the Big 3-0 next Sunday!
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Remember the real reason for the season!

Five Fun Facts

Amanda's 5 Fun Facts:
1) I have weird food issues. I don't eat anything white and creamy - no mayo, no ranch, no sour cream. This means no chicken salad and no potato salad. I will eat something with these items if it is cooked though. I say I don't like cheese but I like cheese pizza and rotel dip. I guess I should say I don't like cheese on sandwiches, hamburgers or just a piece of cheese. Speaking of sandwiches, I just like meat, bread and veggies on those. :)
2) I want to run a half marathon one day just so I can get a 13.1 sticker. I'm working on the 10k first. Baby steps.
3) I don't shop at Wal-Mart.
4) I can only wear a purse on my left shoulder. It feels super strange on my right one.
5) I'm not creative at all. I wish I could decorate my house and envision fabulous outfits, but I lack the talent for both.

Robert's 5 Fun Facts:
1) Robert doesn't eat mayo or sour cream either. However, he will put ranch dressing on anything. He doesn't eat cole slaw but he will eat tuna dip.
2) Robert is creative. He can play the drums, and he is very good at drawing. I have proof!
3) Robert was Phi Mu Men of Year calendar's Mr. November 2002. I have proof of that as well!
4) Robert is the best gift buyer ever. He puts thought into every purchase he makes.
5) Robert loves to watch movies. No television shows, just movies. Even if he has seen it 10 times and it's 10 minutes from the end, he will watch it.

Sugar's 5 Fun Facts:
1) Sugar loves vegetables especially broccoli and cucumbers. Veggies are the only "people food" that she is allowed to eat. We are very strict parents. :)
2) Sugar doesn't mind visiting her veterinarian.
3) Sugar can fetch but she doesn't quite know how to bring it back.
4) Sugar loves to go for a run with me. She goes all out the first mile, and I have to drag her for the second mile. Then she sleeps for several hours.
5) Sugar likes to put her head in our lap if we are sitting down. It is the sweetest thing ever.

My Best Friend's Wedding

Last weekend was Allyson and Dave's wedding weekend in Natchez. The venue, Dunleith Plantation, was amazing! Friday night, we had the rehearsal on the front steps of the main house and dinner at the Castle restaurant on the grounds. Dinner was awesome - a filet, grouper, asparagus, and cheese grits. Here are some pictures from the Castle.

Saturday morning, all the girls enjoyed a yummy breakfast together and then we headed to the salon. We all really enjoyed bridesmaid bonding time at the salon! Next up was pictures with the beautiful bride, the super sweet ceremony and fabulous reception complete with yummy food and a fun band! It was a perfect day! Here are some pictures from the wedding day.

It was a great weekend filled with lots of love. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Owens!

As some of you know, my grandmother is in the hospital at UMC. Robert and I headed to visit her when we got up Sunday morning. My GPS had a mind of it's own and was taking us to UMC at LSU! We didn't even realize until we crossed the LA state line. I guess we should have paid more attention but at least we have a good story. Four hours later, we made it to visit MaGrace. Thanks to everyone who is praying for her. She is much better, but unfortunately, must have dialysis 3 times a week forever. She should be getting out of the hospital this week. Continue praying that she keeps her strength up.

October has pretty much exhausted me. I've had something to do ever single weekend. Hopefully, November will give me a much needed break. Robert is working every weekend this month because he has clinicals every weekday. Pray we make it to December!

Last Fling Before the Ring!

I cannot believe my best friend is getting married in a week! It's such an exciting time, and I am so happy Allyson has found the love of her life. Last weekend, we celebrated by spending a weekend in San Destin. We played fun games each night, had a lingerie shower brunch on Saturday, spent time on the beach, ate wonderful dinners, and danced the nights away! Plus, we had the most awesome condo ever. It was an awesome weekend with some amazing ladies!

I cannot wait until the wedding weekend in Natchez!

My Guy

October 18 was our 2 year wedding anniversary. It was a very romantic day - we had breakfast then he did homework and I cleaned the house. Ha! We are officially an old married couple. It was really nice just to be home at the same time though, and we did go for a fabulous dinner that night. I am very thankful to be married to my best friend. We always have fun and I know he always be there for me. Thank you, Robert, for being an awesome husband! I cannot wait to celebrate 50 m0re anniversaries!

Our yummy breakfast!

family photo from our 1st anniversary

I don't want to bore everyone with the story of us, so I am just going to give you a highlight. I said I was going to marry Robert the first time I met him. No one believed me then but 6 years and 3 months later, I married him! He was my college crush which turned into a best friend then a boyfriend and then an amazing husband! I feel very lucky that I get to spend the rest of my life with him.

Okay, I'm done with all the mushy stuff!
Here is the recipe for the super easy and super yummy breakfast casserole pictured above:
1 package of sausage (I like Jimmy Dean spicy)
1 block of cream cheese
2 cans of crescent rolls
Place one can of crecent rolls on bottom of casserole dish and heat for about 5 minutes in oven. Crumble up the sausage and cook thoroughly. Drain sausage and add to cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Stir until the mixture is even. Add mixture evenly on top of crescent roll layer. Top with the other package of cresecent rolls and bake until brown per instructions on package.

...and the home of the MUSTANGS!

Where have the last 10 years gone? I cannot believe that last weekend was my 10 year high school reunion! It was a blast!! Friday night we tailgated at the West Jones Homecoming game. It was so neat being back on campus after 10 years especially since our football team is so good now. Saturday we had a catered dinner at the Laurel Hotel followed by a night of dancing. We played games and had prizes, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It's amazing that you can go 10 years without seeing someone and then catch up like you never missed a beat. I love you, WJH Class of 2000!

The Shady Grove Eagles Group! The biggest and best group at the reunion! :)

Robert was so upset that he had to miss Southern Miss Homecoming but marriage is about compromise, right?! AND he ended up having so much fun!

I'm already ready for the next one!

Hide your Kids...

In case everyone wants to know what I'm LOVING right now, here goes...

1. I know everyone has seen this by now, but I cannot get enough. The key is to watch it in this order.
News Clip
Rap Song
Even Better Song

2.
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin - This is my favorite Bath & Body scent. It is the essential Fall smell, and I get so excited when it is in season!

3.
Puppies. I have puppy fever. Couldn't you just eat up these little versions of Sugar?!

We had a great time at Allyson's shower Saturday!

The puppy paw print wrapping paper I used for Allyson's gifts was adorable! Ally got lots of great gifts, and we all enjoyed getting to spend the day together. Up next...the Bachelorette Party! Whoo Hoo!

Robert had fun at the Saints v. Falcons game. Of course, neither of us was happy with the outcome, but he enjoyed being there!

Are you ready for some Football?!

I feel like we have been non-stop every single weekend this month. From Phi Mu recruitment (hooray for 45 new little ladybugs!) for me to work and school stuff for Robert to two Southern Miss wins, we have been busy! Busy is fine with me when it includes a GAME DAY though! It is finally my favorite season of the year, FOOTBALL SEASON!

Both of my teams are winning so I am a happy camper! SMTTT and Who Dat?!

Nothing else too exciting has been happening around the Lee household. Robert let Sugar on the couch to watch the Saints game, so now she thinks she gets to sit there all day. Next weekend, Robert is going to the Saints v. Falcons game, and I am one super jealous wife. I think John Allen should take me instead of Robert! ;) Allyson has a shower Saturday and engagement party Saturday night so I will have just as much fun though!

i heart weekends

This weekend was lots of fun! Friday night, Robert and I had a nice romantic steak dinner at home. Robert's sister, Lauren, and her boyfriend, Chris, were in town for a wedding and stayed with us. Sunday, we enjoyed a nice lunch with them and spent the afternoon catching up.

Saturday night was Allyson and Dave's engagement dinner in Laurel. Everything was so nice and we had lots of fun! I'm so happy for them. They make a beautiful couple. Here are some pictures from the party.

Sugar wanted to make an appearance so I will leave you with a quick "hello" from her! :)

Hope everyone has a great week!
